1-Vermont

We’re reducing service hours to only run buses during peak travel times for high school students.

8-Jackson Park/NE 15th

Due to lower demand, we’re canceling extra weekday rush-hour peak trips. We’re also extending service to MLK & Lombard.

9-Powell

Due to lower demand, we’re canceling extra weekday rush-hour peak trips.

18-Hillside

Due to low ridership, we’re reducing service hours to only run buses during peak travel times for high school students.

26-Thurman St

50-Cedar Mill

Due to very low ridership, we’re canceling this line.

72-Killingsworth/82nd

Due to lower demand, we’re canceling extra weekday rush-hour peak trips.

81-Kane/257th

We’re canceling extra trips that were added to relieve overcrowding during the pandemic.

82-South Gresham

Due to low ridership, we’re reducing frequency to hourly service.

92-South Beaverton Express

Due to very low ridership, we’re canceling this line.

Forward Together

The Forward Together Project will reorient TriMet bus service to restore ridership and ensure TriMet is providing service that equitably meets the needs of the Portland region. We’re taking a deep look at our existing bus network and whether it is best serving our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people travel, so we’re evaluating our plans to move forward together.

A Better Red

The Better Red project will extend the MAX Red Line west to the Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport Station, serving 10 more stations that only Blue Line trains currently serve. The project also adds a second set of tracks near the Gateway area and Portland International Airport. Currently, MAX Blue, Green and Red line trains traveling in opposite directions have to take turns on this single track section. These bottlenecks affect schedule reliability for the entire MAX system. Adding a second track in these sections will improve service for all riders.

Construction is currently underway, with the new service beginning in fall 2024.

Equitable service

TriMet studies any fare change or major service change for potential impacts on minority and low-income populations. To do this, TriMet conducts an equity analysis whenever such changes are proposed, including service improvements for fall 2021 and spring 2022.
